The CSSANZ Media Award was withheld for 2019. Updated information for 2020 will be added in the new year.
CSSANZ offers an annual Media Prize for the best media segment (published article, television or radio commentary, or multimedia format) judged by the Media and Public Relations Committee of the CSSANZ to provide the best information to patients.
The award aims to recognise the important role the media can play in raising public awareness of the spectrum of colorectal disease, and the impact these conditions can have on patients.
There were four entries in 2018 ranging across all media: print, radio, blogs and television, from a mix of health and medical journalists through to a CR cancer survivor living with a colostomy bag. The winner is Gruen, Series 10 Episode 8 which included a segment about publicising the at-home tester kit, which also promoted bowel cancer awareness at the same time (on air during Bowel Cancer Awareness Week).
