CSSANZ Membership
CSSANZ members have undertaken advanced training in colorectal surgery, and are dedicated to ongoing professional development to maintain their expertise in the diagnosis and management of intestinal and anorectal problems. Most members are actively involved in research and teaching and all are committed to maintaining the highest standards in their practice. The Society and its members promote the best evidence-based practice in order to improve the treatment of our patients.
Society members are required to meet the following requirements:
- A commitment to colorectal surgery and support of colorectal surgery as a specialty
- Majority of practice in colorectal surgery after a minimum of 3 years beyond advanced training
- A recognized period of training in colorectal surgery (not less than 2 full years) and a hospital appointment in colorectal surgery.
Membership applications are assessed by the Membership Committee which makes recommendations for membership to Council. All membership decisions require ratification at the following AGM.
