Philip Douglas Education Prize

The ANZTBCRS Training Weekend is held in August/September with post-fellowship Fellows required to research and present on a specific colorectal topic. Their papers are available for all members of the Society and form part of the curriculum for the annual examination for second year clinical Fellows.

Since 2007 a Best Fellow Presentation Prize has been awarded. This Prize was renamed in 2009 as the Philip Douglas Education Prize in memory of former Training Board Chairman and esteemed colleague, Phil Douglas, who passed away on 3 January 2009.

The Prize is awarded annually for the best paper and the recipient is to be accorded a podium presentation at the subsequent Spring Colorectal meeting of the Section and Society, and to receive a $1000 travel stipend.
